Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival

Giving the festival a head start are Born 2 Hustle, Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert Costume Exhibition, and the Digital Mana which will all be showcased on March 1. The Gala Runway will be shown on the 5th of March with other Runway shows held thereafter. An International Women’s Day Forum is slated on March 8th.

Moomba Festival

To be held on the 9th until the 12th day of March, this largest community festival in Melbourne will be celebrated right in time for the Labour Day Weekend at the Alexa Gardens. It offers free events and activities that will make you become more familiar with this wonderful city. It is a perfect event to celebrate with the entire family and enjoy carnival rides and nightly fireworks coupled with extreme fun through water sports activities. Highlighting the event are the Moomba Masters Championship, the Birdman Rally, and the Moomba Parade.

Zoo Twilights

A festival which will be held on a ten-day run from March 16th to 25th, this event is a celebration of the food and wine industries in Australia. Run for the Kids

Sponsored by The Herald and CityLink, Run for the Kids is a one-day event which will be held on the 18th of March. This is a community event with a cause which aims to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. The Appeal actually originated in 1931 and since then, The Herald has already been part of it. The event is the single biggest contributor to this program of the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Melbourne International Garden and Flower Show
